Abstract: "In order to solve traffic problems including air pollution, traffic accidents, traffic congestion, and last/first mile problems, intelligent vehicles are expected to be one of the best solutions. I joined several projects related to automated vehicles, personal mobility and mobility robots in order to realize the smarter city in transportation. For the intelligent mobility, several technologies should be solved, for example, position estimation, obstacle detection, communication and human machine interface, etc. In addition to the technical challenges, non-technical challenges, which are social acceptance and political issues. It is important to solve these problems to conduct the experiments with real subjects and under real conditions. In this presentation, I would like to share the experimental results of these projects and discussion for future transportation for smarter city."
